SOLDIER DIES OF INJURIES SUSTAINED FROM IED EXPLOSION (#1519)

LSA ANACONDA, BALAD, Iraq – A 1st Corps Support Command Soldier died March 16 of injuries sustained from an IED explosion. The explosion occurred on a road south of Baghdad.

The Soldier was evacuated to a combat support hospital and later died of his wounds.

The name of the Soldier is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

The accident is currently under investigation.

RIP soldier :(

Nobody capitalizes "teacher", and "doctor" is only capitalized as part of a person's titled name, as in "Doctor Markham", but not when being referred to as a line of work, as in "he's a doctor".

If we started capitalizing "lawyer", I think I'd be sick.

We don't capitalize other professions when they're referred to as a profession. Why do some people insist on calling people "Soldiers"?

They are soldiers. LOWER-case "s".

There's something subliminal about it that I just don't like.
