Three arrested in terror inquiry

Three men have been arrested under the Terrorism Act in Manchester.

The men, aged 19, 21 and 27, were stopped on Sunday afternoon when police on routine patrols suspected they were travelling in a stolen car.

When the car was searched officers found items which led to them being arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said an investigation was ongoing but stressed no explosives had been found. The car turned out not to have been stolen.
