EU Firm on Ending China Arms Embargo
http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?F=719596&C=america

The European Union is determined to lift its 15-year ban on arms sales to China and does not expect any retaliation from Washington when it does so, a top official said on March 12.

EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner told Reuters in an interview a delegation of European officials due in Washington in the coming week would seek to ease fears that an end to the ban could alter the balance of power in East Asia.

U.S. President George W. Bush has voiced concerns that the end of the embargo could skew the military balance between China and Taiwan. Lawmakers in Washington have also threatened to curtail defense cooperation with Europe if it proceeds.

“Of course there are some concerns on the American side, but I have never heard the word retaliation,” Ferrero-Waldner said.

2. I wonder if EU actions would have as much effect as...
US corporations violating federal law and delivering ICBM telemetry technology to the Chinese.

Or

the US National Security establishment letting the Chinese get a hold of nuclear weapons miniturization blueprints so they would have thermonuclear warheads to put on their ICBMs?

3. As the world stability/sanity spirals out of control,
I'm sure glad we have the steady head and hand of GW Bush working the world on the flappers of his foreign policy, like it was his own pinball game. I hope he doesn't tilt it.
