DeLay Lashes Out at Democratic Party

DeLay Lashes Out at Democratic Party
!

By DAVID ESPO, AP Special Correspondent

WASHINGTON - House Majority Leader Tom DeLay accused leading Democrats on Wednesday of longing for the "weak and indecisive foreign policy of their Cold War past," and said votes on President Bush (news - web sites)'s call for $87 billion for Iraq (news - web sites) would mark a defining moment in the war on terror.

"The Democrat leaders must finally decide: Are they going to be the party of Franklin Roosevelt's moral clarity, or the party of Ted Kennedy's extremist appeasement," the Texas Republican said in a speech at the Heritage Foundation.

Edited on Thu Sep-25-03 09:57 PM by 9215
Mr. New Deal FDR, the founder of "Socialist Security" had moral clarity???????

Jeez, what a dumb thing to say if you are trying to make dems look bad. FDR is like the father of the modern dem era.

What Delay fails to realize is that Kennedy and FDR have at least one thing in common: they can smell a fascist a mile away.

64. Okay, guys, HERE'S WHAT TO DO:
Tom "666" DeLay's numbers:

in Washington (202) 225 - 5951

In Stafford, Texas (281) 240 - 3700

Call him in the morning and tell him how much you appreciate this? Or, call your own congressperson, like I did recently about that jerk Darrell Issa, and ask them to go over to DeLay's office and present him with a nice rock. And then tell him that's what most of America would like him to crawl back under.

21. Bug Boy needs to bone up on his American history
If you want a text-book example of appeasing evil, look no further than the Republican Party of the late 1930s/early 1940s. In what has to be one of the most morally obtuse, brain-dead political impulses ever, they sucked up to the Nazis shamelessly.

And it was the Democrats' dedication to winning the Cold War that ultimately nearly destroyed the party in the 1960s. The Rethugs spent most of that period cheering on a drunk psychopath and his Red-baiting Congressional hearings.

Fuck you, Bug Boy. Chickenhawk piece of shit. You're not fit to replenish Sen. Kennedy's martini glass.

Our critics can try to change the subject, but the debate will come down to one question: Are we at war or not? One choice, one vote.

Hmm, didn't Bu$h already declare the war to be over in Iraq? And don't tell me he meant the war on terror because that $87 billion has nothing to do with it.

72. Welcome Delay as GOP spokesman!
I want this guy in the spotlight as much as possible! Goodbye, "compassionate" fuzziness! He might as well be the house speaker--he's the current Gingrich. He could be useful in ads against the likes of Nancy Johnson or other moderates. "How can they support someone so extremist"?
