Elite Nevada Security Company Loses Two Employees In Iraq
http://www.kvbc.com/Global/story.asp?S=3043717&nav=15MVXDrA

They are described as one of the most elite security companies in Iraq, but even they are not immune to the dangers there. Last week, News 3's Kori Chambers took you inside a Nevada company that had never let cameras in before. Now, he's telling us how they're handling losing their first employees.

Today, there is pain being felt throughout the entire organization. When we first brought you their story on Wednesday, one big point of pride was that this security company had never lost a single employee, with more than 20 months in Iraq and 150 people there. The day after our story aired, all of that changed.

"We are not looking for the Rambo. That is a misnomer. That is counter to what we do." Last week, our cameras got the first look ever inside Special Operations Consulting Security Management Group. "It comes down to three things ... the best people in the world, the best equipment in the world and the best intelligence and tactics in the world."

It is a Nevada-based security company that prides itself on hiring only the best of the best. And it is a company now dealing with the reality of losing two of them. Melissa Wagoner's husband was killed in Iraq. "It wasn't supposed to happen. Brian would have been home in nine days."

And 5 Bechtel employees reported kidnapped.

Five employees of U.S. company kidnapped in Iraq =

Baghdad, March 8, SPA - Five employees of the U.S. construction company Bechtel were kidnapped Tuesday on the highway near Tuz, 230 kilometers north of Baghdad, police said.
Police said gunmen intercepted a vehicle belonging to Bechtel and abducted all five occupants. The nationalities of the passengers were not immediately known.

2. Bush will spare no expense for contractors.
Well, I don't really know for sure. It will be interesting if the "no negotiating with kidnappers" line holds once Bechtel, Halliburton et. al. people are in danger.

6. I bet they're not coming home.
They will most likely meet an unfortunate end there. Sad but true.
They must be paid a huge salary to make it worth going to Iraq.

8. KBR Truck Drivers apparently not
Saw a report on one on CNN last night - he went cause KBR told him he'd earn $8000 - $10,000 a week. What they forgot to tell him was he'd work 80+ hours a week, but anything over 40 hours was paid straight pay - no overtime pay - and the extra money they were supposed to get for being in a hazardous job was only paid up to 40 hours a week. He only ended up getting about $4000 a month, destroyed his health while there, had the sh*t scared out of him.

Figured he could do just as well here.

9. That is a sad story.
People are so desperate for work that they volunteer to go to a war zone. Damn. Just damn. Lots of these folks are from the Southeast (where I live.) The economy has taken a hit. I suppose these people are desperate.

15. I suppose these people are greedy.
Any idea how much they make and I think most or all of it is tax free.

3. Sorry lady, Iraq is not Disneyland.
"It wasn't supposed to happen. Brian would have been home in nine --days."--

Had he chosen a safer line of work, his chances of getting killed in a war zone would be lessened quite substantially.

7. WONDER HOW MUCH FILTHY LUCRE THEY WERE PAID.
They only do it for the money.

Some do it for the thrill of killing people who wear Rags on their heads.

10. Best people...best equipment...Probably cut down with a
gulf war vintage RPG or a crude IED. I'm surprised that they haven't lost a lot more of those nitwits so far.

13. We shouldn't worry there
As far as I see the resistance is getting more and more sophisticated. Their passion and resolve to kill the Yankee Invader appears to grow monthly. They are especially adept at shredding the collaborators.

12. And we should care about these paid killers and goons why?
There was an interesting article on this company and others like it in Nevada.

Many were rejects from police force or security outfits because of disciplinary problems.

These are not "innocent" persons by any means.

Tough shit.

They got paid extremely well.

These are not noble, innocent soldiers by any means.

These are definitely NOT the "good" guys.

Boo fuckin hoo.

Good riddance to bad rubbish is more closer to the truth.
