Sicilian police arrest 84 Mafiosi in raids on capital

Italian police have arrested 84 Mafiosi after a raid on houses and hideouts around the Sicilian capital of Palermo.

Those arrested are accused of kidnapping, extortion and drug trafficking.

The operation succeeded in "decapitating" the San Lorenzo Mafia clan, Cosa Nostra's powerful crime family, police said.

The arrests are the latest in ongoing raids on Mafia outposts across Sicily, including one in January that aimed to unravel the web of protection around Bernardo Provenzano, the top Cosa Nostra boss.

Imagine that. What incredible timing. Just as Italy is reeling in outrage over the controversial death of Calipari, along comes this arrest.

It's amazing. They, too, have mastered the art of, Don't look here, look there.
