Rice Postpones Canada Visit After Missile Decision
By Anne Gearan The Associated Press
Published: Mar 1, 2005

LONDON (AP) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice deferred plans to visit Canada next month because of U.S. displeasure that Canada has opted out of a U.S.-led anti-ballistic missile shield program, a Bush administration official said.
There is no new date for the trip, which had been planned for mid-April.

"We look forward to seeing the Canadians soon, and are looking for a date when we can make that happen," State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said through an aide.

"We were in fact looking at a date, but the schedules didn't work out."

Boucher did not expressly link the delay to the missile decision, but a Bush administration official traveling with Rice in London did so Monday on condition of anonymity.

It's going to be a miracle if they don't find someone just as bad in 08. When you think that a halfwit beat a man with twice his intelligence (twice? More like 50 times) It's hard to imagine how Republicans can lose--they won with a dimwit so why quibble with a strategy that has worked in the recent past?

19. I support limited research into the plan, but Canada is a separate country
They shouldn't have to go along with everything we do.

The reason I support research into that type of weapon is not for it to someday be used to defend against missles, but because I think it could be used to defend the planet against a meteor striking. But limited research, not anything that is going to cost more than we can afford.

23. Don't mix up missiles defense with meteor defense.
The warhead of a missile can be destroyed very easily just by hitting the missile with a small peace of metal. That won't work with a meteor.

The best way is to avoid an impact. Send a missile to the meteor with a small ion propulsion to change the way of the rock. You don't need to destroy your opponent in order to defense yourself. That is Bushologic.

36. All polls in Canada says we are anti-bush not anti-American
there is a vast degree of difference between the two. Clinton was very warmly welcomed in Canada and still is. It is important to define that difference. We don't dislike America but we do loathe bush.

The neocons try to paint anyone anti-bush as anti-American so they can confuse the American public into believing bush IS the United States. Thank goodness, only those who drink the kool-aid buy that nonsense.

39. How childish can one superpower be?
Canada doesn't cater to every whim of the spoiled brat that is the United States (under * rule).

In effect, the administration screams, "IF YOU DON'T DO WHAT WE SAY...WE WON'T LIKE YOU ANYMORE! HARRRUMPPPH!!"

The other day, my child came home from preschool pouting because she wanted to cancel her play date with "Amy" later that afternoon. I asked her why. She folded her arms, made a grumpy face and said, "Cuz she wouldn't let me play with the ponies today in school!". I explained to my child that it's important to share and to understand that we don't always get exactly what we want, right when we want it.

My four-year old child gets this, and she's slowly learning.

Who will help the leader of the free world grasp these concepts?

62. Rumsfeld Sued Over Prisoner Abuse
From the LA Times....

3:41 PM PST, March 1, 2005

WASHINGTON — Seeking to link the military command to the abuse of prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan, the ACLU and a human rights organization sued Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and three Army officers today on behalf of torture victims there, charging that Rumsfeld authorized illegal interrogation techniques.

The suit states that the Pentagon chief "authorized an abandonment of our nation's inviolable and deep-rooted prohibition against torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment of detainees in U.S. military custody."

The legal action stems from some of the well-documented instances of torture meted out to detainees in the Abu Ghraib prison outside Baghdad, and the less-known examples of abuse of prisoners in Afghanistan. It was filed on behalf of four Iraqis and four Afghanis.

65. Rice defers Canada visit

The U.S. Secretary of State is thought to be disappointed in Canada's stance on missile defence.
Free Press news services 2005-03-02 03:34:18

LONDON -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice deferred plans to visit Canada next month because of U.S. displeasure that Canada has opted out of the missile defence program, a Bush administration official said. Rice had planned to visit Canada early in her tenure as secretary of state but decided last week to defer the visit, U.S. officials said. There is no new date set for the trip, which had been planned for mid-April.

"I think she is disappointed," said Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew, who met Rice in London yesterday on the sidelines of a British-sponsored conference on helping Palestinians achieve peace and stability.

"I think the United States is disappointed, but I mean, you know they recognize the Canadian decision and they will respect that decision," Pettigrew said.

"The Canada-U.S. relationship is a very, very important relationship -- multi-faceted, we're partners, we're neighbours, there is a lot more to it."

66. Oh that will show them
I'm sure they don't even want her in their country. Why would they? What could this meeting possibly accomplish? Why the hell would they want to get lectured about freedom again? If I were Pal Martin, I'd tell her to stay the f**k south of the boder and quit wasting my time.

68. Condi's boots where made for walking...and she can keep on, keeping on
We Americans have much to be disappointed about when it comes to the performance of the Former National Security Advisor who got caught with her pants down and who then lied about it.

Walk on, Condi, walk on.

70. Aw! Is lil' Condi disappointed? How tragic!
I weep hot tears for our Canadian neighbors who'll be deprived of her scintillating intellect and amazing personal magnetism!

And this is how we show our support of Freedom Democracry and Diplomacy?
Why aren't we doing what the Chinese did in Tianimen Square (my youngest brother was there, evangelizing while pretending to just be teaching English, many anxious moments getting him home).

How many more times is Condi going to allowed to "CANCEL" meetings in opposition of the country's position on one item or another. Is this what you call diplomacy? Is this being a "SUPER POWER" in the "GLOBAL Community"?

This is all so sad and our media, (Print, Broadcast and Radio) are to held at fault. So are all our little darling "Congress Critters".

Once again, I recommend to everyone to truly understand:

"America, What Went Wrong?" Donald L. Bartlett and James B. Steele\

any one of Gary Allen's books you can find. "None Dare Call it Conspiracy" is my personal fave.

And for the real diggers around, well there is lots more.

Go look up "The Rich and the Super-Rich" Ferdinand Lundberg, First Printing, 13,500 , June 1968
Lyle Stuart, Inc, New York
Library of Congress Catalog Number:

67-10015

Go have some real fun@!!!!!!!!!!!!1
