2. Casualties reported

As reported on CNN Latenight, a US soldier interviewed reported 2 killed, 10 wounded, but no mention of whether they were US, UN or Iraqi civilians. Reporting it was an IED (improvised explosive device).

7. Update on CNN: Suicide bomber detonated bomb at checkpoint

An Iraqi security guard that stopped him to search his car was killed in the blast, along with the suicide bomber.

So, don't worry folks, it's just brown people being killed, nothing to fuss over. <sarcasm>. Seriously, we've all seen what happens when an occupied population resorts to suicide bombings, and it's not pretty.

3. This unstable situation

will go on indefinately, until something changes, it seems. What's going to change? At least one casualty a day, and perhaps more with events like this.

5. 7 or 8 injured

suicide bomber...confirmed by U.S. Bomber tried to get in with a vehicle but was stopped outside. As the vehicle went through the gates, the Iraqi guard was killed...no one knows if they were killed from the bomb or shot.

It was similar to the past two bombings at the Mosque and UN base before.
