WASHINGTON – As far as many Democrats are concerned, the "vast right- wing conspiracy" that pursued President Bill Clinton did not close up shop after he left office.

Impeachment. The Florida recount. The California recall. Redistricting in Texas. Some of President Bush's critics say they see a pattern of Republicans using courts, legislative power and other maneuvers to overturn election results.

<snip>

"The three R's – recount, recall and re-redistricting – are the new playbook for a narrow Republican majority attempting to use government to expand partisan power," she said.

Republicans, such as party chairman Ed Gillespie, have accused the Democrats of "political hate speech," and of attacking Republicans because they have no positive message of their own.

2. Mr. Schneider and his ilk...
may dismiss the "conspiracy" notion out of hand if they like, but when this country becomes a totalitarian, one-party system wherein even their precious liberties are infringed, they will sing a different tune. They may wish they had taken the Democrats' conspiracy theory a little more seriously.

4. Why does this article make "conspiracy" seem like some....
"out there" possibility? The things the cabal have done are well documented, as is who they are, and what their plans are. One one hand we have PNAC and the neocons, and on the other, the right-wingers like Scaife, et al, who went after Clinton. Together, they form the majority of the Republican elite.

Democrats need to start talking names, and providing documented examples. They should send copies of PNAC's papers to everyone in the media, showing how they cooked up the Iraq war, and have been running things from inside the White House, as well as what their plans are for the world. There's no mystery here, and lots of facts. For the press to paint Dems as some kind of conspiracy nuts, in the face of such overwhelming evidence, is indeed a part of the conspiracy itself, that involving the media.

12. Outrageous facts = conspiracy theory
That is the mindset of the freaking news. PNAC, redistricting directives from DeLay, right wing funding of Paula Jones all the way to the recall, ARE NOT speculations. They are facts. And they demonstrate a pattern of intended monolopy of the political process. So where the hell is the "conspiracy?" The media is asleep and we are being turned into a one party country. I blame them almost as much as the would-be facists. Bastards!

5. Political Hate Speech?
Where has Gillespie been? Did he actually say that? Let's see:

The Willie Horton Ad
The Smears against Max Cleland in Georgia
Tom DeLay saying he couldn't go to war in Vietman because "minorities had taken all the slots"
The attacks on McCain in the S. Carolina primary

And those are the most recent examples that come to mind.

13. A few more for the list:
Demonization of Daschle, despite the attempted assassination attempt on his life, as the personification of evil in the senate (implication: he is thwarting God's chosen bush, and thus thwarting God's will).

Threatening all who criticize ANY policy of this administration as abetting terrorists.

16. add Ann Coulter's repeated calling for the assasination of Davis
If Molly Ivins called for the assasination of Rick Perry, she would have been jailed.

BUT

Coulter can repeatedly call for the murder of Gray Davis and the Media gives her pass after pass!
