Hutchison leads Texas politicians in poll
Hutchison leads Texas politicians in poll
By Tim Eaton / Scripps Howard Texas Poll Syndicate
February 18, 2005

U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison remains Texas' political darling with an approval rating about 20 percentage points higher than Gov. Rick Perry's, according to the Scripps Howard Texas Poll.

Seventy-one percent of Texans approve of the job Hutchison is doing as the senior Republican U.S. senator. Seventeen percent disapprove, and 11 percent don't know.

Hutchison is exploring a possible bid to challenge Perry in the 2006 gubernatorial primary election. But observers say the governor is in a strong position because of the solid support he gets from conservative Republican Party members.

Fifty-one percent of Texans approve of the way Perry has handled his job as governor. Thirty-three percent disapprove, and 16 percent don't know.

1. I Was Treated Very Poorly By This Politician And Her Dallas Staff
She is a waste of human space and has no interest in helping her constituents. Very long story that will not be related here.

8. Yoh, so true.
I saw her in an old video clip where she was interviewing someone on a plane. The clip was from the early 70's maybe????
I think it was a republican she was interviewing. Interesting to see where they cut their teeth.

2. Texas will be going from the frying pan...
... to the fire if she wins.

Chris Bell had better start getting his ducks in a row.

4. Really..
.... I can't stand govner Goodhair, but Kay takes stupid to a whole new level.

My wife has sent her a few emails over the years - she always mails a snail-mail form letter back stating her position. It is always pathetic.

Living in Texas, one just gets used to it I suppose.

3. Oh I'm sure Perry gets a lot of solid support
from conservative Republican Party members. Especially the closet gay ones.

6. Am I mistaken...
...or didn't she get her start covering the Bush family as a "newsreader" or something? I remember seeing her "reporting" on Bush on the campaign trail.

10. Yeah, well, she is attending a fundraiser w/ Coulter in TX
Here in Collin County---one of the most neon red spots in TX....at Southfork Ranch <where "Dallas" was filmed>. And as far as the 51% of Texans who approve of Perry's jobs, they are dumber than the "don't know" asswipes...guess they enjoyed that $10 BILLION DEFICIT in 2003..we have some pocket change in the bank this time around..a few hundred million...I say pocket change cuz reportedly it is no where near what we need to fix everything that is wrong down here.

2005 Collin County Lincoln Day Dinner
"VICTORY! An Evening with Ann Coulter" 2/26/05

Special Guests: US Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison; The Governor of the State of Texas, Rick Perry; Texas Agriculture Commissioner, Susan Combs
