Ralph Reed announces run for Lt. Gov (GA)
http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/0205/17reed.html

Reed, who earlier this month quietly set up a fund-raising committee, declared his candidacy in an e-mail to supporters.

"After much prayer and reflection, and with a heart filled with anticipation for the bright future for our state, today I write you to announce my candidacy for the office of lieutenant governor of Georgia," Reed wrote.

7. Has he returned the 4.2 million he took from Abramooff
He has received 4.2 million from GOP lobbyist Abramoff to drum up anti-gaming support in Texas to help close the Tigua Tribe's casino in El Paso. These scumbags were also being paid to help keep it open!!! Email him and ask if he is going to return that money to the Native Americans!

24. why, again, did Karl Rove, recommend Ralph to enron?
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 11:28 PM by cosmicdot
~just thought I'd bring it up for old time's sake~

:D

Need to nip this one in the bud before Diebold selects him to office

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-33,GGLD:en&q=enron+ralph+reed

why, again, did enron need Ralph Reed?

I don't think we've gotten to the bottom of those shennanigans ... still waiting for Ken Lay to come to trial.

Name Ralph E. Reed Jr.
Appointed To
Industry Lawyers & Lobbyists
Employer Century Strategies
Occupation Founder & President
Address Atlanta, GA
Status for 2000 Raised at least $100,000
Status for 2004 Ranger

~snip~ The Times reported in 2002 that Bush strategist and Enron stockholder Karl Rove recommended Reed’s lobby services to Enron (see Ken Lay) in 1997, when then-Governor Bush was considering a presidential run. Enron paid Reed’s firm $300,000 before it collapsed. The Federal Election Commission later rejected a complaint by the conservative Judicial Watch that alleged that these Enron payments served as a stealth conduit for the Bush campaign to buy Reed’s backing. An Enron spokesman later said the company hired Reed to conduct a covert letter writing campaign—a la Microsoft—to promote electricity deregulation in Pennsylvania. Another influential lobbyist on this issue was then-Governor Bush, who called his Pennsylvania counterpart--Pioneer Tom Ridge--on Enron’s behalf. In a memo seeking more business in October 2000, Reed shared his lobbying philosophy, writing Enron that, “it matters less who has the best arguments and more who gets heard—and by whom.” ~snip~
