United Nations — The United States must cede significant control of the Iraqi reconstruction process to the United Nations if it wants its European partners to help in rebuilding the country after a war they never wanted, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said yesterday.
In an opinion piece in The New York Times, Mr. Schroeder, one of the most vocal critics of U.S. President George W. Bush's decision to go to war in Iraq last spring, pledged German help to fight global terrorism and rebuild both Iraq and Afghanistan.
But he — and other European leaders — have made it clear that the United States will have to work more closely with the UN and transfer power to Iraqis themselves more quickly than the United States administration has indicated it is prepared to do.

Is Junior/Cheny (Halliburton), building, digging, some kind of secret underground complex in Iraq which the Iraqis won't even know it's there? (Thus this project has scheduling which won't be complete for 1-2 years. Therefore our children must continue to be slaughtered until this project's completion.)
