Vehicle Accidents Kill 2 U.S. GIs in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A U.S. Marine and an Army soldier were killed Friday in separate traffic accidents in Iraq (news - web sites), the U.S. military said.


The Marine, assigned to the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, died in an accident while conducting security operations in Anbar province west of Baghdad, the command said.


Separately, a U.S. Army soldier assigned to the 1st Marines was killed in an accident during security operations in the northern Babil province south of the capital.


Names the victims were withheld pending notification of relatives.

I wonder how many of these "accidents" have gone unreported in the "official" tally of those killed in combat. I'm willing to bet the toll of dead would be at or over 2,000 if these "accidental" deaths were included. In my opinion all deaths should count in the official total. These people wouldn't even be in Iraq if not for the foolishness of one man. If they're in Iraq and the die, no matter the reason, they should be counted in the "official" tally.
