Chalabi wants to be Iraq's new prime minister

<snip>

But many think the top job will go to a member of one of the slate's leading parties, the Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq or the Dawa Party. Those groups led the crafting of the ticket, and their candidates for prime minister are much more popular with Iraqis.

In a survey of 1,500 potential voters in the week before the elections, the Iraq Center for Research and Strategic Studies found that only 56.2 percent could name a leader they trusted. Of those, Chalabi received only 1.3 percent of the total. Interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr and interim President Ghazi al-Yawer all received higher numbers.

Many Iraqis said they considered Chalabi an outsider who came back to his country on U.S. tanks.

"I know that many people find him intolerable," said Sarmad Subhi, 31, a university lecturer. "I personally see him and his people as corrupt."

1. Isn't he in jail yet?
He's been "about to be arrested" for a year now.

I have a feeling he has info the neocons wish to keep secret - and is holding it over their heads to escape prosecution. And, of course, now Iran has that info...

I'm almost sure Mr. Rove will back him. They like to hang together those types. And since Bush doesn't have his own brain - I'm sure it is a done deal!

This really is the 19th Century. They are dividing up the Planet again!!!

Someone tell Babs she has to step in. If she is going to be the big doyenne - she's got to supervise!!

4. Mr. "Thanks, suckers!". Mr. "So what if I lied". Mr. Iranian Spy.
Mr. Forged Documents. Mr. Wanted Criminal In 5 Nations.

The man who sat next to Laura that bush "don't really know who he is".

The man who hadn't been in Iraq since he was a baby.

1.3% of the vote sounds damned generous of the Iraqi people.

15. LOL! But Mr. Iranian Spy certainly is worth posting twice.
The guy passed CLASSIFIED info (and WHO gave him that info???) onto IRAN.

But that's ok, bush & Mr. Spy kissy-kissied and made up. :eyes:

8. And I wanted to be the King of Bacchus
It didn't work out.

Chalabi had better be on the last US plane leaving
BIA.

Isn't it long past time to announce the winners?

Between 19 March and 30 March, the North Vietnamese
Army captured Quang Tri City, Tam Ky, Hue, Chu Lai and
Da Nang. In Da Nang, 100,000 South Vietnamese
soldiers surrendered after their commanding
officers abandoned them. The North Vietnamese Army started
its final push to Saigon on 31 March.

President Thieu resigned from office on 21 April, 1975.
During his 90-minute resignation speech, he read a letter sent
to him by Nixon in 1972, in which Nixon promised
'severe retaliatory action' if South Vietnam was
threatened.

10. He couldn't walk down the street without being lynched ...
by his own people.

But it matters not ! What matters is how useful he can be to the Bush corporate robber barons. I think he has expended most of his usefulness to the cabal and should probably go into hiding.

He deserves to be punished for stealing from his own people.

13. if Chalabi becomes PM.
then there is no right and wrong, and no up and down.

The Dawa and SCIRI parties won...let them choose the leader they want...and yes...it's a Shiite Theocracy...but...sadly...we can't change the world...Iraq and Vietnam taught us that...
