4. He noted that point.
Also, with much humility, talked about fighting the fight in his current role.

We need Al for a while. 2008? Who knows.

5. Glad to hear this!
I don't think Franken has the chops to be a "get the job done" legislator. He's far more useful to the progressive movemnt doing exactly what he does now. Senators can't write books entitled "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them".

Course... he's probably too honorable for today's politics.

8. But dry drunks and Nazi gropers can be...
A President and Governor of our largest state.

I want Democratic butts in these seats. And you imagine Al's wit on the Senate floor? He knows a Hell of a lot more than Coleman. He'd do fine.

9. AMEN... he can oppose butt-boy coleman.
The DFLers here would not have supported Al this time.

He needs to move back here first....he's right, people here take their politics very seriously. He's gotta get all his ducks in a minnesota row.

18. Yep, that's the fight he WANTS
I sure as hell wouldn't want to be the JUNIOR senator for toothyboy, even for two short years!!! Honor your commitment (such a Dem concept!), and then go for the knockout, Al!!!

11. Indeed, a good decision.
His "Bill O'Reilly, All American" Radio Theatre skit was hilarious today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A real showman, Franken waits until the end of the show while talking about the pending announcement in the meantime. He is really good at what he does. One can disagree with his point of view on a given issue and still enjoy the show.

14. Franken ? Senate? I dont think so.
Al is an entertainer, not a politician.

And dont tell me Arnold is both. He really has done nothing but burn the budget since he got into CA office. He is not a politician.

19. His entertainment consists largely of political commentary
...and the politicians aren't doing so well these days. He's smart, he's well educated, and doggone it,I LIKE HIM!!!

Arnold is a steroid laden moron. A one-trick pony who found himself in the right place at the right time, and had a bucket of cash and name recognition to buy himself the Gov seat. Sadly, there are a LOT of stupid people in California. They have the right to vote. They viewed that recall election as a "happening" and wanted to be part of the process. Oh well...they asked for him, they got him.

20. he might be waiting for 2008
which was the plan all along if he did run for Senate.

it was expected Dayton would run for re-election to the Senate in 2006 but he just announced yesterday he wouldn't. so it will be an open seat race now.

16. Keep doing what you're doing so well, Al!
I listen every day I can, for as long as I can, during my lunch hour. Al's show has come a long way, and really seems to be picking up steam lately. The guest list is great, and they consistently deliver.

I thought the bit yesterday between Brock and Franken over Brit Hume dissembling FDR's Social Security proposals was quite effective.

Let's let Al continue to develop through another Minnesota election cycle. I have a feeling Coleman will be even more vulnerable next time around, partially due to what Al does on the radio in the meantime.

21. Good. Would hate to think he launched his AAR career to further his
political one.

We need more journalists who will speak for us! Not more politicians!
