Bush plan to cut micro business loans criticized
President Bush wants to eliminate a program that funnels so-called micro loans to entrepreneurs, a move critics say will hurt very small businesses that depend on the financing.

Bush's 2006 budget provides no funding for the Small Business Administration program, which last year provided about 2,400 loans of under $35,000 each.

"This is very unfortunate news," said Wendy Baumann, president of the Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Corp., a leading micro lender that draws a significant share of the money it loans from the federal program.

"The Bush administration is making a mistake," said Bill Edwards, executive director of the Association for Enterprise Opportunity, a national group supporting micro enterprises.

4. Promises everything to everyone and then afterwards does what
he wants to do. Total liar.

Note, I know you were being sarcastic in the first post. I'm just using your post as a jumping point to explain, in a little more detail to any sarcasm impared lurkers that might read this, the Republican leadership's true nature.

11. Ubetcha. The greatest enemy of small business is corporatism.
There's no question about it. Wal*Mart is the poster-ogre of the retail sector, probably responsible for putting more small businesses into bankrupcty than any other three causes. Corporatists hate competition and love bribery and coercion.

9. If it ain't a gi-normous business, he ain't interested. When are small...
...businesspeople going to realize that they're getting shafted just like the middle and working class?

Whether you're a business or an indidual, the less economic power you have relative to someone else, the more likely you should be voting Democratic if you want to compete and exist on a level playing field with an equal access to opportunity.

12. Bush doesn't freakin' CARE about small business.
The idiots that voted him in are NOW seeing the biggest mistake of their lives go poof in their faces. Cutting school funding, cutting health care, cutting senior funds, cutting police funds, cutting biz loans, cutting school loans... He's a regular freakin' santa claus. Hope all the Bush voters ENJOY these next few years of HELL with the rest of us who actually READ.
