Poll: French, Germans see little hope for improved ties with U.S.
WASHINGTON — By large margins, the French and Germans disapprove of President Bush's handling of foreign policy, a poll says.

The German Marshall Fund survey was released Monday, two weeks before Bush departs on a European tour that will include a meeting with French President Jacques Chirac and a visit to Germany.

The Fund supports strong ties between the United States and its European allies.

The poll said 62 percent of French citizens "disapprove very much" of Bush's foreign policies. Fifty-nine percent of Germans felt the same way.

2. Only 62% in France?
If I ever get to Europe ..I'm going to have plenty of tee shirts and buttons that let People know where I stand as an American citizen.

9. LOL.
That's what naive Murkans thought 4 years ago. It's what they always think.

14. Sure they did.
Ir's more or less a constant. American chauvinists have historically assumed that the rest of the world will eventually adopt whatever the U.S. decides upon if only because of the economic consequences of not going along with the program. I don't see 2001 as an exception to the pattern. In fact I'd say that a major reason Bushco rushed into invading Iraq without a significant coalition is because they figured that once they were in and the fighting started the old allies would fall in line and come to the rescue.

7. And, they should "shun" the US until a new president is elected!
Wouldn't it be something if NO ONE in Europe would meet with Condi Or Junior Or Cheney Or Rumsfeld Or Pickles?

8. They're right to feel this way. Most of the right-wingers who voted
for Bush don't really like foreigners and will probably never leave this continent, unless they enlist. I heard one say that all the foreign animosity is okay with her, because at least it's safe to travel in this country. She was never going to take a trip outside the USA, anyway.

And when I went to get a passport and hated my picture enough to take another, the right-wing nutcase said, "What does it matter, only a foreigner will see it."

What a shamelessly arrogant thing to say and think.

21. Ahem - " Condi has the credibility" ... uh
with whom does she have credibility ?

She doesn't have any credibility in America much less Germany and France.

The entire administration doesn't have any credibility outside of its own chorus and contributors.

Are you visiting here or what?

Not much to write about.
Lies are the stong point of the Reptilians.
Lies to justify hording and Lies to justify extermination of any opposition.
Lies Lies Lies and Self Admiration.

26. When is the last time she told the truth?
Go ahead. Struggle. I can't think of anything. Can you?

You're correct about no credibility, but I think that's putting it mildly. Someone who was accidentally wrong all the time would lack credibility. Someone who intentionally tells lies all the time is just an outright liar (and Secretary of State).

After visiting Europe a number of times, it has become clear that the majority of Americans don't know too much and don't want to know too much.
