Iraq Abuse Photos Soldier Continues Evidence
A British soldier who took graphic photographs of the alleged abuse of Iraqi prisoners will continue giving evidence at a court martial today.

Fusilier Gary Bartlam, 20, from Tamworth, Staffs, sparked the Iraqi prisoner abuse scandal after taking photographs of the alleged incidents to be developed at a photographic shop in his home town.

A court heard claims he bragged to a fellow soldier about delivering electric shocks to the prisoners, making two men “shag each other” and breaking an Iraqi’s arm.

Bartlam, who has been described as “a complete nutter” with a liking for violence, was also accused of assaults against prisoners at three separate British army bases, in Iraq.
