Wait for angel of death, al-Qaeda warns Allawi
Baghdad - Insurgents have killed at least a dozen people in the rebel campaign to frighten Iraqis away from participating in the weekend election.

And as part of an intensifying campaign of intimidation, an al-Qaeda affiliate led by Jordanian terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi posted a videotape on the Internet showing the murder of a candidate from the party of interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi.

The tape included a warning to Allawi personally: "You traitor, wait for the angel of death."

1. Don't you like how ALL the insurgents are al-queda
in the media?

This isn't true.

And I doubt most Iraqis want to risk their lives to vote in a fixed election.

2. This is frightening to me
These people are so willing to die for their beliefs. Bush is very willing to have our youth die for ours. Who's gonna wear out first, I wonder?

Ho Chi Minh (re Vietnam) said:

We will kill one of yours. You will kill ten of ours. You will grow tired.

7. To get the answer to your question you have to ask yourself who has...
...more to lose? The Iraqis have two choices. Victory or death. Its not like they can leave and go home. They are already home. The US on the other hand has multiple options. One of which is pack up our shit, come home, and stay alive. I vote for life.

4. That's precisely the point. The election is fixed.
Why risk your life to vote in it?

5. If you don't vote for one of the US approved candidates...
...at one of the US approved polling stations, on one of the US approved ballots, that person must be al-Qaeda. As Chimpy has said. You are with us or you are against us.

16. Let's mold the picture a little better

Bush likes this. This makes it seem more like we are fighting who we originally should have, Al Queda...

I wonder if Bush will ever realize that we went to the wrong country. He must be pretty stupid.

10. Allawi's nickname in the White House is "Saddam Lite"
I kid you not. It's revealed in the recent issue of The New Yorker magazine, by the unequaled investigative journalist Jon Lee Anderson. The caricature accompanying the article shows Allawi with spiked wrist cuffs, like a thug ready for battle.

My reaction to that, is that 20 years ago, even Saddam himself was Saddam Lite.

11. Allawi is probably cooked.
When have these guys ever given up after they decide on doing something. If nothing else, they are very persistent.

12. If I wanted to vote, but thought that I'd get shot trying to vote, I'd
take a gun with me. I don't own a gun. I've hunted in the past but I'm no gun "nut." But if you want to know what I think is worth fighting for, what I'm ready to put my life on the line for, what I'm ready to do to ensure my children grow up in a free society...then try to keep me from voting.
You can't force representative democracy down people's throats. They have to want it. Maybe if Americans were not occupying Iraq, Iraqis would fight the "insurgents." I'd bet many of the insurgents would melt away. But right now, we are the unifying force that allows "insurgents" to live safely in Iraqi society. What Bush is hoping for is an insurgency to the insurgents, otherwise known as civil war. That's not going to happen as long as we are there. Or maybe that's what is happening while we are there.
