Court may reconsider ruling delaying California's polls for governor
http://news.yahoo.com/?tmpl=story&u=/afp/us_politics

The US court that postponed a vote to oust California's Democratic governor said it may be willing to reconsider the explosive decision that Republicans are greeting with fury.

The state's top electoral official jumped at the offer by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which opened a political hornet's nest Monday by delaying the October 7 vote on the fate of Democratic Governor Gray Davis.

Secretary of State Kevin Shelley said he would file papers on behalf of the Californian people urging an expanded panel of judges of the same court to rehear the case that was decided by three judges.

"I believe it's in everyone's best interest that the case be heard swiftly and considered thoroughly for the court to resolve these legal issues that the voters expect and deserve," he said in a statement.

What does this mean? Besides the fact that Repukes are the biggest hypocritical whiners on the face of the earth...

1. It doesn't look like anything new really
It's just a different spin on what we already knew today - that the Ninth Circuit Court agreed to reconsider the case if appeals were filed by 2:00 on Wednesday.

And we already knew "Repukes are the biggest hypocritical whiners on the face of the earth...":D  Fuckin got that right!

3. what is it with Shelley?
Yeah, I noticed that too. And he's been super gung ho for the bbv's, right along the way. Well, most of the election officials are that way. But he seems like a real liability to the dems. One thing that has happened for me during this whole crisis, is that I'm finding that I often cannot trust the democrats, at least some of them. I have to go person by person, and just decide if they seem creepy in some way. If they don't seem creepy, then I might be able to trust them.

4. Yellowdawg, question....
First a little background, I am white southern male, and a former republican. I am now a yellowdawg democrat myself and am very familar with the term Yellowdawg Dem.

The first part of my question is, if you cannot trust the democrats, and an election were held between a Dem, a Repub, and an Independent. Lets say you found the Dem creepy, who would you vote for!

Second part of the question is, do you know what the meaning of Yellowdawg Democrat is?

:kick:

5. What does this mean?
It may mean they need to give the CA constitution a broader hearing instead of just three judges. The punch-card angle may be enough to make the constitution moot but it would help to get some more input.
