Abortion Foes Stage Protest of Roe V. Wade (* calls in his support)

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) told abortion foes on Monday he shared their support for "a culture of life" and claimed progress in passing legislation to protect the vulnerable.



"We need most of all to change hearts and that is what we're doing," Bush said as anti-abortion activists marked the 32nd anniversary of the Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion with a day of rallies, protests and other activities.


The issue took on new urgency with the likelihood of a high court vacancy.


Bush addressed marchers by phone from the presidential retreat at Camp David, Md., where he had spent the weekend.

I he really going to pull this off? I don't know whether to laugh or cry. In an ideal world it'd be just grand if every pregnancy was wanted, if there was no stigma attached to teenage pregnancy, or if there was a good home available for every child birthed and then rejected. I hate this culture of life bullshit, especially since it's so hypocritical. She talked about the "thousands" of good people who are willing to adopt. I've always thought that they can march their asses down to the orphanages and adopt a disabled child, or an older child, or a minority. Poor things want to hold out for the white baby, though. Those good people. Those saviors. And then they advocate for the deaths of thousands of innocent children in the Middle East.

There are too many layers of "fucked-up-ed-ness" about this "culture of life" bullshit. Just like everything else with them it's the "culture of the lives that WE see fit to protect."
