Man Who Sneaked Into Inaugurals Arrested

WASHINGTON - U.S. Capitol Police on Thursday arrested the man who sneaked into George W. Bush's first inauguration and was photographed shaking his hand.


Hours before Bush took the oath of office for a second time, Richard Weaver was taken into custody on the Capitol's west front on an outstanding warrant, police spokesman Michael Lauer said.


The warrant involved the 2001 inauguration, when Weaver was photographed shaking Bush's hand and slipping him a coin and a note. Weaver pulled a similar stunt in 1997 at President Clinton (news - web sites)'s swearing-in.


Police arrested five people for protesting during Bush's inaugural speech, Lauer said. He had no additional information.

he is a self-proclaimed priest who does not "sneak" in, but claims God lets him in to all inaugurations. His note was a message he said was transcribed from God to tell the American President to be good.

I think he also made it into BOTH of Clinton's...

messages from god? Now we know! Passed by a Nut, (he must find something in common with weaver on that end.)Or maybe Dick helped him in. Maybe he's tired of doing all the work yet getting little of the glory. (millions aren't enough anymore).


love that 40 million went to pay for this charade of protection. People got pepper sprayed for snowballs being tossed at the street? Bush was about to drive down (though in the pictures of the spray notice there isn't one car there??).
