World fears new Bush era
...and all Bush can do is smirk....

Thursday January 20, 2005
The Guardian

George Bush will be sworn in as president of the United States for a second term today in a lavish Washington ceremony, amid mounting international concern that his new administration will make the world a more dangerous place.
A poll of 21 countries published yesterday - reflecting opinion in Africa, Latin America, North America, Asia and Europe - showed that a clear majority have grave fears about the next four years.

Fifty-eight per cent of the 22,000 who took part in the poll, commissioned by the BBC World Service, said they expected Mr Bush to have a negative impact on peace and security, compared with only 26% who considered him a positive force.

The survey also indicated for the first time that dislike of Mr Bush is translating into a dislike of Americans in general.

1. The world is going to use the sentiment to band against us.
What's a greater uniter than a single enemy to hate? Shrub sure is a uniter and we will see that in the next 4 years.

5. I wish they'd try to take him down.
He and his neocon allies are causing as much trouble as Sadaam Hussein ever did...probably more.

4. It's gonna be a long four years
and even longer to undo the damage he has done. If only it could just affect the shitheads who voted for him.

6. Bush has sped up our downfall.
China, India, and the European Union will become the REAL power players in the 21st Century. Sad to see that Mr. Bush has burned President Clinton's "Bridge to the 21st Century".

8. "for the first time..dislike of Mr Bush is..into a dislike of Americans"
I've been asked why Americans are so weak now. The image this person had was of Americans who rose to the occasion and fought for their rights. They understood Selection 2000 was theft....but they are having a hard time accepting Shrub back in office. For them, it looks as if "Americans must want him"

"It's understandable that you're worried. The rest of you see things the way they really are, not through rose-tinted TV screens like we do here". You're afraid that you'll be next. Or, you're worried that Bush is going to create Armageddon and the entire world will be sucked into his insane plans that no one but Bush and his "father" upstairs knows about".

"Don't worry. Chances are very good that we will exhaust ourselves financially and militarily before too much longer."

We have already lost 10% of our military force in Iraq and Afghanistan. Over 1,300 killed, and over 10,000 maimed and wounded. Our military is stretched to the breaking point. We are currently spending $4.9 billion per month in Iraq alone. We have now surpassed $200 billion to secure the Iraqi oil under those hot sands".

Everyone knows this is unsustainable. We'll be broke within another 2 years. So my message to you is: hang tight. Give Bush enough time, and he will bankrupt us and decimate the military. You should be able to get by unscathed.
