An Iraqi ICRC staff member found dead, says the ICRC

GENEVA, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced Saturday the death of one of its staff members in Iraq.

The ICRC in its announcement expressed deep shock and dismay by the death of one of its staff members west of Baghdad.

A spokesperson for the ICRC Annick Bouvier told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the ICRC will not release the name of its staff member upon request from his family.

The ICRC said that the staff member who is an Iraqi national disappeared while on duty on 13 January. His body was found yesterday. The circumstances of this tragic incident remain unclear.
