U.S. Border Agent's Squad Car Yields Marijuana Haul
U.S. Border Agent's Squad Car Yields Marijuana Haul
Fri Jan 7, 2005 05:41 PM ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A U.S. Border Patrol agent has been arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking after authorities found 750 pounds of marijuana in his squad car following a high-speed freeway chase, according to a criminal complaint filed in San Diego.

The agent, Luis Francisco Higareda, has pleaded innocent to the charge and was in federal custody on Friday, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

FBI agents began watching Higareda after learning of a supposed plan to move a giant drug stash over the border from Mexico to a house in Calexico, California using a marked U.S. Border Patrol car, the complaint said.

Agents said they watched Higareda meet with another driver at a customs checkpoint, then chased him "at high speeds" about 20 miles to Holtville, California.

8. Natch.
It was Official Marijuana, to be planted on likely but stubbornly careful suspects.

13. That's actually not true

mexcian weed is generally a sativa strain, rather than an indica. It's actually a more functional weed, because the user can smoke and still perform, rather than the complete blowout high if an indoor synthetically maxed out indica, that makes the user non-functional and have to sleep off a weed hangover.

Sativa is often characterized as more of a "body buzz".

Also one builds up a tolerance based on the potency of their supply, so while one may pay an extremely high price for "one hit weed" indica, it eventually takes more and more to reach the same effecrt as tolerance builds up. One might just have well spent a fraction of the price on a sativa sack and enjoyed the same effects.

It is nice for the smoker to be pleasantly surprised by a nice quality mexican than disappointed by a sub-par expensive bag of indoor US green indica.

Or so I'm told... Of course, I wouldn't know any of this from personal experience.

5. Kind of sad. I'd much rather the border agents and police have
other things to do than stuff like this. Guess this is a victory in the War on Drugs? Right. Legalize it.
