4. Can't say what his chances are of overturning --
-- Gregoire's win, but Rossi is making it difficult for himself to challenge her next time if he tries and fails in the courts.

And even if he does unseat Gregoire, I expect his road to governance will be a rocky one.

30. Sounds encouraging then, for Gregoire.
Rossi gives me the creeps. I'm not saying Gregoire is the next James Madison, only that Rossi gives me the creeps.

If he loses in Washington State in the legislature, can he not appeal as high as the U.S. Supreme Court?

6. He's done for in politics.
Bad decision on his part. Not that he could have won in 2008, or next year against Sen. Cantwell, but this makes certain of it. What a "sore loserman." His ONLY hope in this would be federal court, most specifically the US Supreme Court. But they will NOT take this case, since it would establish a precedent that they don't want to make.

10. There are only two possiblities:
Rossi will lose.
The election will be run again.

In the case of the latter, Rossi will lose by a certain margin.

I'm not worried about it. BUT, he will pursue it just so that he can get more name recognition for the 06 Senate election. However, he'll likely lose against Cantwell as well.

The Repub party has become so corrupt! It reminds me of the Dems in the 70s who, having a solid hold on power, pretty much ignored the Repubs. The difference is that Dems were interested in setting up a government social structure. Repubs are interested in setting up an oligarchy.

21. Rossi will need something a little more compelling than "do over"
The standard is quite high and the burden of proof quite onerous for getting a new election. So far, about all I've seen Dino say or do is whine, complain, bitch and pule about the decisions that went against him, and the fact that the vote didn't favor him. Those are not legally compelling arguments for the state to consider the time, trouble and expense of a re-vote.

11. time for "chris" gregoire to demand he concede.
since he's already done the same when he led before the recounts, its only fair play. she needs to rachet the rhetoric up & expose their hypocrisy. use that specific word, "chris": HYPOCRITE. before rossi does.

talk radio alone is keeping his campaign alive. now the PI is acting shocked that dead people voted, like its the first time its ever happened, or it was a dem conspiracy.

18. Well the only KNOWN dead person vote was for Rossi, ironically
Some recently-widowed man filled in and mailed his wife's absentee ballot because he knew she hated Gregoire. And, he knew he was breaking the law when he did it.

One of the other dead person votes doesn't make a difference. A recently-widowed woman had both her deceased husband and her absentee ballots. She threw out one - turned out to be the wrong one - and filled and sent in the other.

36. I disagree
her being quiet on the issues keeps her in the backlight...let Rossi take the limelight and make a huge ass out of himself- he already is. I have heard some people who were for Rossi stating they wished they never voted for him now...think he's just out for blood.

Chris Vance doesn't help at all either.

challenged, due to low populations in Red states. If they had lost Ohio, thats it...they were finished in 2008. They were counting on sneaking into Washington so the governor could control the election process.

They know Ohio will enact voting reforms that will make fraud all the more difficult in 2008.

Also, Jeb will leaving Florida in 2006. They need Washington as an insurance policy.

I'm I the only one here that sees these slithering snakes for what they are?

28. Republicans in Washington used to be noted for their moderation. But
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 08:22 PM by Ruffhowse
since the mid 80's they have been taken over by the Fundies, and Rossi is a product of that disgusting group. They believe in winning at all costs, and because what they do is in Jesus' name, it is justified in the end. These are true hard core fanatics, folks, and it doesn't surprise me at all that Rossi is going for the scorched earth policy to try to steal the election. It is well documented that the tactics of the Fundie Rupukes are a no compromise, take no prisoners, all out attack effort. We see that in Washington today. Thank God there are more liberals and progressives in this state that see the Repukes for what they are and have managed to keep Democratic control of the State Senate and House. May we all be saved from these Fundie kooks, they are a real and looming danger to our democracy and the United States as we know it. They must be stopped at all costs.

33. you got that right
The WA state GOP previous gubernatorial candidates were two steps closer to the loony farm than a governor's position.

Ellen Craswell and John Carlson were soundly defeated because they were so extremely RWW.

Rossi is not as well known outside of King County (where Seattle is) but he is a bug who needs to be squashed.

Um, what happened to the part where Rossi was going to concede if the tables were turned? Wasn't he asking Gregoire to concede when he was up by 42 votes?

Oh, that's right! He's a Republican! They don't mean what they say, and they're full of shit.

32. After listening to all the comments yesterday
from Republicans during the opposition to the electoral vote, and their nastiness and name-calling regarding the mere possibility of voting improprieties, I certainly hope those same Republicans stand up against what Rossi and the state GOP are doing.

I also hope I win the biggest lottery ever and that my son will some day remember to feed the dogs without being asked.

Nobody that I know of voted for this jerk. Unfortunately from what we are told the eastern part of the state voted for Rossi. I know of no neighbors in my area that want anything to do with this buttwipe. He is toast. And a sore loser. it's just a matter of time before he slips back into obscurity.
