Bush Orders Better Ocean Oversight
WASHINGTON -- President Bush is creating a White House committee to oversee the nation's ocean policies, with plans to improve research, better manage fisheries and regulate pollution from boats.

Bush was to sign an executive order Friday to launch the Committee on Ocean policy, headed by a presidential adviser, White House officials told The Associated Press.

"We also are moving forward with dozens of actions on a near-term time basis," said James Connaughton, chairman of the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

The increased focus on the problems of the world's oceans comes in response to dozens of recommendations from a presidential commission, which wrapped up 2 1/2 years of work in September.

3. Probably
And even if science shows that its poor quality oil and not worth the trouble of extracting and it wouldn't be enough to power a city for more than a day, we need to go and get it... at least until republicans can somehow sneak into Alaska for the same reason.

4. Oh, thank God! They're going to do more research!
I was worried for a moment that they might not be studying things enough! :eyes:

5. This from an administration that insists on counting farmed Salmon
along with wild salmon, to keep the numbers up and show that there's no problem? Give me a f*'n break.
