UN honours its own
New York - The United Nations Correspondents Association held its second annual Citizen Of The World Awards on Friday night.

Former United Nations weapons chief Hans Blix, top UN troubleshooter Lakhdar Brahimi and actress Nicole Kidman, who is a goodwill ambassador for the UN Children's Fund in Australia were honoured.

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, who presented the awards at a black-tie dinner in New York, joked about calls for his resignation over allegations of corruption in the UN oil-for-food programme in Iraq.

"Tonight, I have resigned myself," he said, pausing for several moments before adding, "to having a good time."

1. Gotta love it!
There is no doubt this is a 'shove it' message to bush, one of the many given by the world and more yet to come.
