POSTED: 12:20 p.m. EDT September 9, 2003
UPDATED: 12:21 p.m. EDT September 9, 2003

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Retired General Wesley Clark will deliver the 2003 Levitt Lecture at the University of Iowa 4 p.m. Sept. 19.

Clark is considering seeking the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, but he is expected to make an announcement before his visit.

The former supreme commander of NATO and leader of the allied forces Kosovo in 1999 will examine the complexities of America's new foreign relations in his lecture, "The American Leadership Role In a Changing World." (snip/...)

2. Damn! I can't be there before 8:00!
I'l be in IC that weekend, too! Grr.

Maybe he's going there, not to announce, but rather to endorse Dean, his eventual running mate...

3. Clark is not running for vice president
maybe he'll end up as that but he's not starting with that as his goal.

5. Great! I was just in Iowa City
Does this mean I have to spend four hours driving back to Iowa City, where we just were this past weekend? Hmmm... maybe I'll just wait to see Wes when he's the keynote speaker at EVS 20 in Long Beach.

FYI: EVS 20 is the 20th Electric Vehicle Symposium
