Source of Powell's Iran intelligence under scrutiny
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The source of intelligence used this week by U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell to suggest Iran is working on a nuclear weapons program may not be reliable, knowledgeable sources told CNN Friday.

The issue surfaced when The National Council of Resistance of Iran -- which is on the U.S. State Department's list of terrorist organizations -- revealed satellite photographs this week it said showed a hidden nuclear plant in Iran, allegations the Iranians denied.

You'd think that our gubment would provide a little scrutiny after all the bumbling they showed to the UN. Screw that, I don't feel like paying my phone bill anymore, I think I am gonna sent Powell a few satellite photos of my phone company and tell him that it's a nuclear facility. Then let the chips fall.

5. What Credibility?
What does Powell care, he blew his credibility with the UN Charade and he is on his way out. This is more than likely for US consumption since most of Europe is not gonna but any more sword rattling by us

4.  scrutiny? LOL, they got by with Iraq, they will do it again
the only problem this time is they will have to do a draft first or start calling back vets from Vietnam days. You can just feel that they are itching to go to Iran, too many stories, just too many stories. How fast do you think the GOP Congress will supply the appropriations (and how many Dems will get on the bandwagon with it THIS time). I don't know if I am more upset with the GOP or the Dems.

9. Intelligence was "based on an unvetted, single source"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6525369

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell shared information with reporters Wednesday about Iran's nuclear program that was classified and based on an unvetted, single source who provided information that two U.S. officials said yesterday was highly significant if true but has not yet been verified.

Powell and other senior Cabinet members were briefed last week on the sensitive intelligence. The material was stamped "No Foreign," meaning it was not to be shared with allies, although President Bush decided that portions could be shared last week with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, officials said.

Bush is a one-man disaster zone!!

he ever agreed to work for George II.

11. Moral of the Story:
You play with these guys, and you're playing with fire. I recall about 2 years ago, when Bowel threw all caution to the wind, sacrificed his good standing and sold it all down the river to Make The Case for War.

He squandered everything to support these guys, and look now how they treat him. Like yesterday's garbage. They're publicly slicing and dicing this guy by trashing all his statements.

It kinds reminds of 'Showdown at the OK Corral'.. Bowel says one thing, and the next day the WH comes out with another statement. It's weird.
