14. I have a friend who's about to lose his job
He's a hard worker, a real go getter and very successful at everything he's ever done. He works in sales. Last year he took a job with a large company that is fucked up beyond belief, but he plugged along.

He was recently out for four months recovering from two surgeries -- the second because there were complications from the first. When he returned to work recently, he was informed that his boss had taken all of his largest accounts away from him, leaving him with just nickel and dime accounts. However, his sales goals will stay the same.

This means he won't meet goal and that will give them a reason to fire him. He's frantic. He's been beating the bushes looking for a new job, but there's very little in his field, which is specialized, and a lot of competition for what is there.

Meanwhile, he's still working, but waiting for the axe to fall. They told him they want to fly to headquarters next week -- and he's not looking forward to that.

He's married to a guy who's a foreign national and is here on a student visa. So his partner can't work.
