that it is possible for someone to become so rigidly left or populist or anti-bank, etc.--so critical of the establishment-- that they lose sight of reality and become, well, sort of fascist. That in the name of "social justice," bad things can sometimes happen.

This, of course, could be argued to be a special case. On the other hand, we saw the French Revolution, well intentioned as it was, become the Reign of Terror, and the Bolshevik Revolution lead to the depredations of Stalinism. We saw people like Christopher Hitchens morph from a respected Marxist to a supporter of the Iraq invasion and neo-conservative policies. Yup, it can happen if you don't watch out. Zeal for a cause can end up in very strange places.

Just something to watch out for.
