3. Longfellow: They mock the song of peace on earth good will to men."
George W. Bush ended one of his speeches with the quote from "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" by Longfellow: "Peace on Earth Goodwill toward men." His entire speech was to argue for a surge in Iraq--the war that he, the chief warmonger STARTED! Ironically, a stanza before the one Bush quoted talks about people, such as Bush, who would use these terms!


For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men."



Every word the Republican party utters truly mocks peace and good will.
