2. This is a copout of monumental proportions. The Mutant Turtle(my
apologies to turtles, mutant or otherwise, everywhere, but he DOES look like one)comes up with a way to do what his corporate masters want, ie raise the debt ceiling, while being able to superficially claim that he and the other Republicans really, really, really voted against it.

As I understand it, McConnell would cede the Legislative's branch's Constitutional power to propose the budget, at least the debt part of the budget, to the President. That way, Obama can raise the ceiling on his own, then Congress can pass a resolution saying they don't approve, then Obama can veto it, thus making it Obama's and the Democrats' fault that the debt ceiling was raised while McConnell's corporate sponsors laugh all the way to the bank.

And then the campaign commercials start: Obama and the Democrats hocked your grandkids' future!!!!

I take it back. McConnell's not a turtle; at least they HAVE spines. More like a jellyfish. Is there such a thing as a jackal jellyfish?
