...and I have re-read it several times trying to discern if there is a parallel or not. I think there is not a parallel, and here's why.
It is not the same for a very poor person to put forth his/her best AND a person of means and social power to show the extent of it in a very public way, when the person of means and power has control of the lives of those who have NO means/power.
