A major snafu in the health care debate has been a lack of unity.

Well we appear to be moving towards a united front in Congress and the White House is finally leading, under the heavy hand of Rahm. So we are getting unity.

But naturally it is unity in the wrong direction. "Lets all just support this shitty bill, even though we know it's a shitty bill."

Staunch advocates and fighters for single-payer or public option are trotted out before the cameras like victims of Stockholm Syndrome, or to recant like rehabilitated political prisoners in North Korea.

"The public option wasn't really important. I believe this is a really good bill and the best we can get. We should unite and pass it.... The public option wasn't really important. I believe this is a really good bill....."

No more fighting over trivia like a public option, Medicare expansion, drug importation or mandates. Those are so Yesterday.

Nope. they're all getting on the same page. "Lets pass this shit for the sake of passing something, even if its shit."

I love Tom Harkin and Sherrod Brown and really respect how staunchly honest Jay Rockefeller has been. I will continue to love and respect these guys and other great democrats who tried really hard in an uphill fight.

But it's really sad and I feel really sorry for them.

Sigh
