I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I appreciate having you as the leader of our country.

When I think back to the dark days of the second term of your predecessor and remember how hopeless and defeated I felt, I am grateful for the way things are now. My country, it seemed, had left me behind at the same time it left the ideals and concepts on which it was founded; freedom, liberty, fairness, equality. I remember clearly how broken and disheartened I felt when it became clear that we had lost another election to cheats and liars. Contrast that with the elation I felt upon your successful election. On the night you won, I walked the streets of downtown Oklahoma City and cheered, laughed and celebrated with hundreds of others who supported you and who had their hope restored.

It's funny how quickly the same people who worked, donated and sweated to get you elected, abandoned you. It is amazing to me that so many gave up after less than a year. I guess hope has a very limited shelf life. I haven't given up Mr. President. I believe you are the best thing to happen to our country in a long time and I have faith that you have a plan. For what it's worth, you have my full support and will for the duration. I signed on for the full mission and I will serve you faithfully until the end.

I also see the kind of resistance you face every day. I see it in the faces of those who gather with signs that challenge your patriotism and citizenship. I hear it on the radio as the endless cavalcade of right wing talkers bash you repeatedly all day, every day. I read it in the newspapers, books and online articles written by those who seek your literal destruction. I experience it in my workplace as I refute bogus emails and the latest republican talking points. But I can't imagine what it you experience on a daily basis. I see on your face the toll of being constantly attacked. I can't fathom the burden you accepted when you took that oath but I respect and admire you for taking it so seriously.

Thanks for fighting for the first substantive health care reform in our nation's history. Although it is not ideal, it is a start and I support it. If Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, Fox News, and every single republican member of Congress oppose it, it must be good for the working men and women of America (whether they know it or not).

So I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and to encourage you to keep on fighting. As Winston Churchill said, "Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy."

I have your back Mr. President. That is all.
