Meg Whitman coy on ending spending

By ANDY BARR | 10/26/10 8:19 AM EDT Updated: 10/26/10 8:33 AM EDT

Meg Whitman may call it quits at $141.6 million.

The California Republican gubernatorial candidate said Monday she hasn't decided whether she'll pour more of her own money into the record-setting campaign. The billionaire former eBay CEO still trails Democrat Jerry Brown in most polls.

ABC’s World News anchor Diane Sawyer asked repeatedly if Whitman intends to dip deeper into her own pockets, with Whitman dodging every time.

“You know, there’s only a week left,” Whitman said. “I think we’ve done everything we can.”

Asked if that means she won’t spend anymore, Whitman responded: “I’m meeting and greeting the voters.”
