Which is to keep DU from devolving to the morass of incivility that you've had to endure on other sites.

The rules allow you the benefit of expressing yourself freely without having to face those types of vile attacks. We have a great system of alert and a dedicated cadre of mods who enforce those rules. Sure, some attacks are made, but they're dealt with for the most part. Even in this very thread.

These are the great things that set DU aside from so much of the web.

I, for one, really appreciate it.
