It's quite clear that iAd, which is coming with the OS4 iPhone upgrade this summer is what this led to. And Apple applied for a patent for this.

Jobs touted "iAd" as something to be proud of during the keynote speech a few weeks ago. That iAd could block the entire page and disable functionality until the user focuses attention on the advertisement.

As if the world needs more advertisements.

Things like this make me wonder...what if an ad's blocking my phone's service and I need to place a 911 call? Seconds count in an emergency.
