I sure would have liked to have been able to make a contribution. It says the Red Cross was there, but I don't recall a solicitation from Red Cross, to which I contribute after many events, nor anything in the news. Maybe I was absent that day?

the "lesson" from the i-mess thing is supposed to be a wake-up call that we are too casual about racism that is all around us. This should be an equivalent wake-up call.
