2. I've said that since I was a kid.
Seriously, no country is perfect, every one has problems, but most of the US marches around waving a flag and screaming "we're Number One!" at the top of their lungs, and god help anybody who thinks any differently.

I regularly read the blog of a Canadian knitter--she's written several books and is quite witty. Some idiot American got pissed this summer because she wrote a blog post in honor of Canada Day--she took it to mean she was slamming the US, when she never meantioned the US at all. She then proceeded to wage a hate campaign on this poor woman to the point that the blogger was talking to her local police to try and stop it. The attacker's whole theme was "no one attacks the US," but she was too stupid to understand that people outside the US can be proud of their countries and not have it be an attack on America.

Idjuts, all of them . . . .
