I adore it there. It's everything I could have asked for within reason. The people are terrific and the whole "South Seas" thing is even better in reality than in imagination.

One of the places I vistited n a dive excursion is the island of Tetiaroa ... an atoll and nature preserve owned by Marlon Brando's family (through his Tahitian wife).

It's fucking AWESOME! Every photo i've ever seen, including those backlit glass pictures, of white coral sand, brilliant, electric blue water, beuatiful blue skies, and lush palm trees hanging over the beach ... becomes TRUE in reality on that island. It's the kind of place that makes you thank God you have eyeballs ... and could gratefully say that even if struck blind the next day, at least you saw the stark beauty of an unspoiled South Seas island. It's just incredible.

See http://www.onlytahiti.com/IslandOfTetiaroa.html I was THERE. It's far MORE beautiful in person than ANY photo can depict.

The Island of Moorea is where the Brando version of "Mutiny on the Bounty" was filmed ... and the REALITY is as good as the movie. Awesome beaches and foliage and geography ... and GORGEOUS people.

Then there's Paul Gauguin. His art comes alive in Tahiti. Believe it.

If there's a Heaven ... at least one corner of it will be like Tahiti. I have no doubt.
