of a party that is completely wrong headed and has always been so.

I believe they really did think that abandoning financial regulations would streamline business and make us all richer. They really didn't remember that the previous experiments led to the Great Depression. I believe they really believed that fattening the rich would lead to more investment in start up businesses. They really didn't remember that all it led to in the 20s were conspicuous consumption, investment overseas, and hoarding. I believe they think holding wages down is a way to insure business profitability. I don't think they realized that holding wages down during an inflationary period would lead either to the evaporation of the consumer market or the accumulation of a great deal of uncollectable debt at the bottom.

Yes, it will get worse before it gets better. Our government is reactive at best, never proactive. Neither of the current Democratic front runners has any clear plan to rock the boat to the point of tossing the Reaganites overboard. Things will have to become desperate before they do.
