8. I don't think I got my point across clearly
This has nothing to do with the political preferences of Sarkozy, and I doubt that France would make such an assessment without consulting Germany and the UK first (is it coincidence that the UK is moving out of Iraq?). This is the voice of Europe, and it's saying: "Look, we let you have your way but you are NOT cornering the oil market."

Nobody is questioning the motives for the Iraq war anymore. Hunt Oil is already settling in Kurdistan, despite Baghdad policy (Kurds don't care) that strictly prohibits any foreign contracts at this time.

Now the top 5 oil reserves (not counting Canada) are:
1. Saudi Arabia
2. Iran
3. Iraq
4. Kuwait
5. UAE

Venezuela and Russia are next with distance, then there is a longgg gap before Nigeria and the US.

Saudi Arabia is this weird rogue nation with ties to the US government and international terrorism alike. It has allegedly rigged all their oil fields with dirty bombs. On the first sign of an attack they will render their supplies useless. Truth or fiction, I don't know. But nobody wants to mess with the Saudis, that much is clear.

Kuwait is forever in our debt thanks to the first Gulf War (does anyone remember that that one was fought under false pretenses too?), and UAE is a long-time allie in the Middle-East.

So with Iraq and Iran both under US occupation and control, the rest of the world has a serious problem. Unless of course they should trust the US to handle their position of power with compassion and equal opportunity (would you?).

Now if a coalition of European armies takes Iran before the US can, then at least they are still in the game. When you think about it, it is a logical and inevitable response to PNAC's plan for world domination.
