Would you take this bet re: Gore running?

My buddy's pops offered him a bet this weekend. My friend wins $500 if Gore DOES NOT win the Democratic nomination. If Gore runs and gets the nod, his pops wins $5 grand. A 10-1 bet. Would you make this bet if you were my friend? Guaranteed $500 in the bank, right? ;) What are the rules re: having to get involved in the primaries? If Iowa is up for January, http://2008central.net/?p=321 Gore better get his butt in gear, right?
