8. Yuck - can we persuade him to run as a Republican?

I hope his money can not buy him the nomination. It would be a disaster to have him running as the Democrat. Although, we could then see a real parallel to the Lieberman/Lamont/Schlesinger race. Schlesinger was a completely unacceptable choice - "In the Republican Party primary, Alan Schlesinger drew fire in July when it was revealed that he had been gambling under an alias in order to avoid detection as a card counter. Despite calls to withdraw from the race, Schlesinger remained in the race,<24> ultimately becoming the Republican nominee when no other Republican challengers entered the race." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate_election_in_Connecticut,_2006

I have always seen this race from a Democratic point of view. (duh) But, look at it from the Republican side. given their candidate, they had no real choice other than two Democrats - and Lieberman still caucuses with us. The current Lieberman approval ratings show that no one was really happy with this. In Florida, in the general election, a good question that will come up will be which caucus Christ will chose. (I would guess Republican)
