Slinkys, Hula Hoops, and those rubber spider things that crawl down walls were all invented...I assume to serve no purpose. Television was invented. If it serves a purpose, then why so many different sizes, much less called an idiot box? Like I said. This is a computer, not a public works initiative.

Your personal concerns are valid. Not for me though.

Typical notebook, it is more portable when you have a camera bag with a pocket that can only hold so much.
Less functional. How exactly do you know this? How many hours have you spent using one, and which software was it that you were using?
