5. Thom Hartman mentioned "Gun Licenses"
There are a lot of responsible gun owners who teach reasonable rational use to their kids, but not everyone gets that.

We get a license to drive a car and that helps hold us accountable for our behavior when we drive. Keeps society safer.

IF you had to have a license to buy a gun and meet some standards to renew your license, most people would be able to meet those standards fairly easily just like most people do what it takes to drive a car if that's what they want.

THEN since it would be illegal to have a gun without a license, anyone who had a gun but did not have a license for it would have to A) Surrender it B) Be fined C) Be investigated as well as the source who sold it illegally D) Possibly face jail time if there was any reason found to believe the gun was obtained with the intent to commit a crime.

Accountability not control is the real answer, I think.

I don't have a problem with my average American neighbor owning a gun to go hunting or protect themselves or use to form a militia if the Government really does become an oppressor.

I DO have a problem with people thinking that gun ownership is sacred...

and that human life is NOT.

Know what I mean?
