1. It's best to not say a word to police period. You should plead the 5th
stay quiet and not risk accidentally incriminating yourself even if you are Innocent. A lot of people messed up by talking to police. Martha Stewart is a perfect example. Had she stayed quiet they could not have gotten her for lying. Too often Innocent people tell the truth and it ends up putting them near the scene or they change their story just slightly and the police are then all over them. If you get taken in, don't talk at all. It's your right.
